Best friends are a blessing

I strongly believe in serendipity. There’s always a reason why certain things happen and you meet certain people. And for every person that you meet, there’s always a purpose with which that person comes into your life.
In our life span we meet many interesting people. Some just remain as acquaintances while some become best of friend’s.
Being a girl, in my accordance every girl has a guy best friend, with whom she shares a love-hate relationship. She hates him to the core but can also do absolutely anything to make him happy. Speaking with a personal experience, I met a guy some 9 months ago. Thanking the overly hyped social media, since it is because of one of those sites that we met. And the funniest part being, we unknowingly belonged to the same social circle but never crossed each other’s path. Not even once. How different it would have been if we would have met otherwise. So yes, we started talking, became friends and finally decided to meet. And since that day till today, not even a single day has gone without staying connected to him. In these 9 months a lot has changed. We have become the best of friend’s. Honestly, our choices and views are way to different but we have accepted each other through those differences and decided to make peace with them, happily.
To say, it’s not a while that we have met. There is a long longgg way to go but how much ever I know him I can say that this guy is one hell of a person. He is literally a buddy who never misses a chance to insult me. But at the same time handles all my mood swings and arguments. No matter how stupid or big a matter is, he makes me believe that he does understand and will get me through anything possible. Each day I try and learn at least a single thing from him. Cause’ at the end if I’m able to become half as humble as he is then I’ll consider myself as the luckiest!
So yes, we are best of friends and will remain so forever, maybe?!

DISTANCE

Distance has great power to make us realize things. It is equally necessary to some extent. It is when something goes away from us that we start to realize its value. We take things and especially people for granted when they are near and start to miss them once they go away from us. Nothing absurd in it. It’s a basic human tendency. But what we don’t realize is, that if we value something when it is near to us then the distance would be less painful when they are far. Having said that, distance also helps us to understand what we mean to someone. Sometimes just sometimes, we live with the false notion that we mean a lot to someone but in reality it is just the opposite. That’s when we should really distance ourselves from that particular person. Emotional distance is much more hurtful than being physically away from something.

Bonds and emotions are truly tested through distance. Those who get

through this distance happily are the luckiest. And those who don’t, well probably it wasn't meant to be. So, stressing on the fact that distance is just not doing any good to a relationship is not worth at all. At times, we just miss someone’s presence. Having them around is all that we need. The mere thought of meeting them makes us happy. That is when we understand that though they are far physically, the emotional bond with them is still intact. And honestly, if you connect emotionally well with someone, physical distance shouldn’t really matter. But that does not mean that you should not value someone when they are around. For making people feel special just lessens the distance and the bonds stronger. Never let distance overpower special bonds for once distance is created, revival becomes difficult. So, if there are people whom you really value and love, make sure to make them feel special and loved, as you never know distance can change equations which might not be in our favor always.

Love for DANCE

Every person has one such passion in life which he treasures and loves till the end. It refers to any form of art. Dance is the one for me. Dancing is something that occupies a very special space in my life. I have never ending and ever growing love for it. Dancing has been a passion ever since I was a kid which is preferred over anything, any given day without a second thought. It is something that gives me infinite happiness, in the real sense.

What started as a forced routine only grew to become a source of happiness to me. The one and only person who is responsible for my love for dance, is my mom. She was the first backing force to take me on this amazing journey of classical dance, because of her own liking for dance. I started learning dance in a real professional manner from the age of 7. Bharatanatyam is the form that I started to learn from my honorable guru Smt. Lata Surendran. The thought of learning a classical form of dance disturbed me at that age because I thought it was boring in comparison to the Bollywood and western form of dances. But, as I started to learn it, I developed a different love for it which has only grown till now.  Back then I knew nothing about classical dance all I knew was I was enjoying those class sessions and it was making me happy and letting me to learn new things. The dance practices before a show, the process of setting up the whole act was so much. It’s a sheer myth that classical from of dance or music is boring, in fact it gives you pleasure and a sense of peace once you start to understand it.

Dance, may it be any form, it gives me happiness. It puts life in me. Also a good piece of dance performance can make my day, literally. This amazing journey of dance has given me the opportunity to visit different places, meet different kinds of people and befriend them. It has also given me the chance to be under the supervision of great classical dancers and share the stage with them. It has been more than an over-whelming journey for me till now. All I know is, I love dance to bits and pieces and it would only grow to no limits.

In Love? Be So!

LOVE! Seems to be a really strong word. A word with a lot of depth and an equally strong meaning. Love has various relationships attached to it. It can be parental love, love between two friends, sibling love, love for one’s pet, anything and everything to call it. And all of these relationships are eternally pure. Being in love and living up to it, is considered a task. Like literally! But why so? Isn't love supposed to be a simple, usual feeling?! Which is just meant to be felt! Of course opinions differ. Every single person in this universe has a different perception about love. Past experiences and expectations lead to these perceptions. Nothing right or wrong in it. Because at the end, it is how and what you feel for a person. And that is what really matters.

In this fast pace life that we live, some of us tend to follow the trend of “variety is the spice of life”. Which involves dating every other person possible in the name of “love”. Isn't that an insult to the whole idea of love? It’s like fooling your own self rather than anybody in this world. And fooling oneself can be the most horrible thing one can do.

The kind of love that I would like to speak about is the love between two individuals. Not that I know a lot about love or I can define it that I am dedicating a whole blog post to it but something that I genuinely felt like expressing and sharing. To me, love is just caring for someone in a whole special way. Having this little soft corner for a person and cherishing it in the manner that we have not done for anybody else.  What I have specifically heard is that, love is hard. I don’t know why people tag it to be hard and hurting. It is such a beautiful feeling. It’s like just one single person has the ability to take you to this whole new happy space still making you realize about the reality of life. Also what I think is, you can’t just fall in love. It is a process. Honestly, according to me, this ‘love at first sight’ is a crap! You can’t just fall for someone. I mean you can have a crush or by far just like someone on seeing them for the first time. But can’t fall in love with them. Loving someone means accepting them with all their faults and wounds. Trusting and having faith. We can only love a person when we get to know them. If we say that we love someone, we should have the ability and strength to stick to them through every given situation. Because life is not easy. It’s like supporting that one person through thick and thin, loving them and nurturing the bond that is shared with them. Showcasing your love to the world for that special someone is not at all necessary, but making that one person feel special and loved is all that is needed. Having said that, I don’t mean that love is a child’s play. Not at all. When two people come together, fights and misunderstandings are ought to come up. Everything can’t be good and happy all the time. If that’s the case, then it’s superficial. But resolving those fights and understanding each other makes the bond of love stronger.

So, if you think you found that person of love then I think you should keep them for life. Because, if love is not the best feeling, I don’t know what is?!

Being Judgmental? DON’T BE!

Judging someone? Spare a minute and think of the fact that the opposite person might be doing the same about you and the way you might feel when that same person voices out his thoughts. Scary? It sometimes is. Knowing, unknowingly we become so self-centered and start judging people as if we own the whole right of it. But trust me it is not a very good thing to indulge in as not all of us are cool enough to take the comments and judgments positively when they are concerned about us.
The worst aspect of being judgmental is that we comment about things which we are partially or completely unaware of. I mean, what’s the whole deal about judging something that we don’t even know about? And the funny part is, we are the first one’s to judge someone or a situation but when people judge us, we get all offensive. Is it even legit enough to do so?! This is the question we should ask ourselves before judging anything.
More often than not people try to judge a person and try to question his/her character. Why to do such a pity act when we have better things to do in life? Is our life so boring or are we so freaking jobless?! And if at all we judge a person why is that most of the times only negative comments are passed about a person. Why can’t it be the other way round? Why can’t we try to understand that person’s situation and help him/her in some way.
To be very honest even I have been judgmental towards people and situations, for innumerable times. To the extent of even abusing them. But when the reality hit me and same thing came back to me I realized the seriousness of it. And it hit me so hard that I quit this horrible habit of JUDGING. In a recent conversation with a friend, what I realized is that we tend to judge others just because their behavior towards us changes completely ignoring the fact that we once knew the same person very well. We also judge people or situations by what people tells us which is basically being influenced. And being influenced is a sign of how dumb we can be. I have read this somewhere – Each one of us is fighting a battle. And according to me it’s to the point. Each one is surely fighting a battle within or with the people around. And if we stop judging it might lessen the efforts required for the whole “battle”.

The end result of all this is, and what I would like to convey is that before passing a judgment about something or someone we should try and understand how and why is it that thing the way it is. It would surely make our life peaceful and way better for the people living around us!

                              Unsaid, yet conveyed.

ACTIONS! They indeed speak louder than words. They are an element which cannot be misunderstood, no matter what. The fact is, for once even words can cease to fail but actions, can never be ignored. Actions are the result of our inner feelings which can’t be expressed through words. And sometimes they are the best way to convey something. It isn't always necessary to verbally express your feelings. Actions or gestures can do wonders!
In this chaos around us and the daily hustle bustle of life we often forget that we have dear one’s who deserve to be appreciated. Only indulging into mere conversation with people doesn’t help but expressing your feelings through gestures is equally important. For instances - A simple smile can reduce so many pains in life. A hug while we are feeling low can sooth us in such a way that it gives us the strength to fight all the problems. A pat on the back from our parents on achieving something good makes us happy. What are these? They are mere gesture but they convey a lot through them without saying a word and at the same time manage to make us happy and give us a lot of strength. This doesn’t mean that gestures covey only positive expressions. Feeling of aggression and disappointment when expressed through actions create a long lasting impact. Words said in anger can still be forgotten but aggressive actions are hard to forget.
So, the next time that you react to something know the fact that the people will still know what you want to convey in spite of you not saying anything!
Words are powerful but Actions are ever lasting and much more impactful.
